Attention FRO Passholders: Darkwater Trail Closure July 16-20, 2026

Dear FRO Riders,

Please be advised that the Darkwater Trail System will be closed to general riding beginning Thursday, July 16, through Monday, July 20 at 7:00 AM for the National Off Road Endurance Series Side-by-Side 24-Hour event.

During the closure, Darkwater will be reserved exclusively for registered event participants, teams, event staff, and authorized personnel.

Darkwater will reopen to regular riders on Monday, July 20 at 7:00 AM.

Riders who would still like to enjoy the trails during the closure may park at the St. Kieran’s Trailhead to access:
The St. Kieran’s Trail System
The Minersville Route

All other Famous Reading Outdoors trail systems will remain open for regular riding, including:
Ashland
Tower City
Locust Gap
Burma

Please do not attempt to enter the Darkwater Trail System during the closure. Follow all posted signs, barriers, and instructions from event personnel.
